Ingredients Needed 

Pita Bread: 

  • 3 Cups of India Gate Whole Wheat Flour or Atta 
  • 1 tbsp active dry Yeast 
  • 1 tbsp Salt 
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder or Mixture of Dried Herbs (Optional) 
  • ½ tsp Honey or Sugar 
  • ½ Cup Water 
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil 


  • 2 Cups Soaked Chickpeas 
  • 3-4 minced Garlic Cloves 
  • 3 tbsp Sesame Seeds or Tahini 
  • ⅔ tsp Red Chili Powder 
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder 
  • Salt as per taste 
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice 
  • 3-4 tbsp Olive Oil 
  • Sliced Olives (Optional)


Pita Bread: 

  • Incorporate the yeast and honey into a bowl with lukewarm water and let it sit for about 10 minutes, till it becomes foamy. 
  • Add the Whole Wheat Flour, water, olive oil and salt to a separate bowl and combine the yeast mixture with it. 
  • Stir till it can be kneaded into the dough to divide into small balls for the bread. 
  • In an oiled bowl, let the dough rest for about 1-2 hours. Divide the dough into small balls to create equal pieces. 
  • Shape the balls into flatbreads and cook them on a non-stick pan or Tawa. 
  • Place the Pita Bread onto a hot skillet and let the bread puff up and bottom turn brown. 
  • Cover the bread in a kitchen towel and let it rest, or serve hot.  


  • Roast the Tahini or Sesame Seeds and make a fine powder out of it using a blender. 
  • Chickpeas must be soaked overnight and then boiled in salted water till they become soft. 
  • Blend or mix the boiled chickpeas in a food processor or blender to make a fine paste. 
  • Combine garlic, salt, cumin seeds, red chili powder, pepper and roasted tahini or sesame seeds into the paste. 
  • Additionally, incorporate olive oil and lemon juice and blend till the mixture becomes smooth and tastes delicious. 
  • Serve in a bowl by topping it off with drops of olive oil and sprinkle of red chili powder. You can also add sliced olives as garnish.

2. Whole Wheat Pancakes 

Usually, pancakes are made out of All-Purpose Flour or Maida, but many have realized that there are healthier alternatives that can be used to make pancakes, such as oats or even whole wheat flour.   • 1 Egg (Lightly Beaten) 
  • 2 tsp Oil  


  • In a bowl, mix the given quantity of dry ingredients - flour, oats and baking powder. 
  • In a separate bowl, add the milk, egg and oil and blend it well. 
  • Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and stir till the batter is smooth and pours easily. 
  • Rub a pan with some butter so your batter does not stick to the pan, and pour the batter in a circular shape to make a pancake on medium high heat. 
  • Once the bottom is cooked, flip the pancake gently from the edges to cook evenly on both sides.

3. Atta Halwa 

Atta Halwa is a delicious Indian dessert made from the goodness of whole wheat flour. It is made specially during festive seasons and tastes soft enough to melt in your mouth. Ingredients Needed 

  • ⅓ Cup Ghee or Clarified Butter 
  • ½ Cup Whole Wheat Flour or Atta 
  • 1 Cup Water 
  • ½ Cup granulated Sugar or Jaggery 
  • Green Cardamom Powder 


  • On medium heat, melt the ghee and add the Whole Wheat Flour or Atta. 
  • Heat 1 cup water till it is boiling hot and then add it to the Atta mixture. Stir till it achieves a brown-ish colour - about 6-7 minutes on heat. 
  • Add sugar or jaggery to the mix, accordingly, and continue to cook on medium heat. 
  • Add cardamom powder and mix. 
  • Serve hot immediately and garnish with almonds and cashews as per your preference.
